The history of marketing goes back to ancient times, so it is common knowledge that if you want to sell something you have to let the people know that you are selling. But marketing has changed through times and it will change further, and those that will not change will lose sales, and therefore an income also.

550 BC. were appeared first examples of advertisements, which were black figurines Lekythos on which were some inscription. Some examples are found in the Arabian Peninsula, while the Egyptians used papyrus on which are written messages about the products. The remains of advertising was in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. The oldest form of advertising, such as drawings and inscriptions can be found today in the poorest regions of Africa, Asia and South America.

After invention of the printing press in the 15th century the way of advertising is gradually changed. In the 17th century, advertisements appeared in newspapers in England. Volney Palmer established the first ad agency in Boston in 1841. In Philadelphia was founded first major advertising agency NW Ayer & Son in 1875. In 1950 DuMont Television Newtwork published the first commercial television network, which was selling advertising time to sponsors. In1960 appeared more modern approach to advertising, and creativity was especially important. Over time, advertising is expanding and becoming more perfect. In 1990the Internet marketing was created (using the Internet and other digital technologies to meet the marketing objectives).
