True Maggie Gyllenhaal Sex Appeal Hollywood is a tough town to make it big, even if you are already a well established actress.  Apparently Maggie Gyllenhaal sex appeal has not been and still isn't enough for some major roles! Gyllenhaal dished on her early career trying to make it as an actress in Hollywood to the Hollywood Reporter, where she said she was turned down often for not being "sexy"" enough for certain roles. "When I was starting out, I used to hear ‘no’ a lot and still do. And, ‘You’re not sexy enough. You’re not pretty enough,’ says Gyllenhaal. "When I was really young, I auditioned for this really bad movie with vampires. I wore a dress to the audition that I thought was really hot. Then I was told I wasn’t hot enough. My manager at the time said, ‘Would you go back and sex it up a little bit?’ So I put on leather pants, a pink leopard skinny camisole and did the audition again and still didn't get the part. (Laughter.) After that, I was like, OK, f***k this!” Yikes! Gyllenhaal sat down with fellow A list actresses Taraji P. Henson, Jessica Lange, Lizzy Caplan, Ruth Wilson, and Viola Davis to discuss race, aging, and sexism in Hollywood today. Despite her initial failures, the actress then went on to discuss her femininity, and how having two children has made it easier for her to be naked on screen. "I think sex in film is so interesting. It's uncomfortable to take your clothes off in front of people you don't know, but it can be an opportunity for really interesting acting. I'm 37, and I've had two babies, and I'm really interested in nudity now," says Gyllenhaal. Sounds like Gyllenhaal has learned to embrace her body with time! The upcoming Hollywood Reporter article will be available on shelves June 19.
