Singer/songwriter Bonnie McKee took it back to the 80's in her new music video for her single "Bombastic". RumorFix caught up with the "American Girl" singer and she gave us all the details on her inspiration behind the song and video, her time working with Katy Perry, as well as what we can expect from her later this year! "Bombastic is a song I wrote when I was kinda down and out. I needed to write something to remind myself that I am a boss and I can be who I want to be and say what I want to say," the singer tells RumorFix. "It's a song about self empowerment, being a bad bitch and owning it, and I hope it inspires other people to believe in themselves and to be the best they can be!"

Bonnie McKee Bombastic Video Proves She's A Boss!

If this video doesn't remind you that Bonnie Mckee is a boss, than nothing will! There is definitely no shortage of leg warmers, spandex, and not to mention, plenty of derriere! "The video was inspired by my love of all things throwback... I remember when I was a kid all my friends moms and big sisters would put on their spandex thong bodysuits and a full face of makeup to go to the gym and I thought they were so glamorous," says McKee. "I'm just a big fan of Weird Science and Howard The Duck and always wanted to be a super villain, so why the hell not?! " Before her fun bubble gum pop hits, McKee had a long list of superstar collaborations and chart toppers under her belt! The singer co wrote the smash hits "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", and "Last Friday Night" with Katy Perry. McKee is also credited in co writing Britney Spears "Hold It Against Me", Taio Cruz's "Dynamite', and Rita Ora's "How We Do". McKee is DEFINITELY  not going anywhere, any time soon! She has been keeping busy putting the finishing touches on her new EP coming out this year and is recording videos for every song. "This year I am putting out my EP on June 30, and I have 3 more videos lined up! I made a video for every song, something I've always dreamed of doing, and I'm pumped to see what happens next! I'm hoping to go on tour later this summer. But most importantly, I plan on just enjoying being an artist and doing what I love. " As far as making  more smash hits with Katy Perry, the singer tells us,"
"Katy has been touring the past 2 years so I'm not sure when we'll be writing again but I'm looking forward to it! She's one of my favorites to work with and we have a great creative chemistry."
