Exclusive Lisa Vanderpump Selected As Woman Of The Yea One minute Lisa Vanderpump is addressing the United Nations on the Ebola threat, the next she's being honored by the California State Assembly as "Woman Of The Year." RumorFix is reporting exclusively that Lisa is being honored in the State Capitol on Monday morning by Assemblyman Richard Bloom. She was selected as part of Women's History Month because of her dedication to the business community -- including three restaurants in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills -- that has paved the way for young entrepreneurs. And, Bloom is singling out Lisa's activism and philanthropy in the gay and lesbian community. And, we don't think Bloom was just talking about Lisa helping Lance Bass set up his wedding registry. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is a fixture in the gay community. She was named queen of The White Party in Palm Springs, she was crowned Queen of Halloween in West Hollywood and is a regular in the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade. Beyond all that, she often holds fundraisers for the gay community in her restaurant, PUMP, and she has joined the boycott of her beloved Beverly Hills Hotel, because the owner is accused of atrocities against gays. Woman of the Year -- an honor well deserved.
