Exclusive Dirk Shafer Autopsy Autopsy results are in for Playgirl model Dirk Shafer, who was found dead in his car last Thursday and RumorFix has learned exclusively they are inconclusive. The Los Angeles Coroner's office tells us they have deferred the results, because they want to undergo more testing. It could take up to six weeks for the results. At first the coroner's office told us they thought the 52-year-old died of natural causes, but close friends speculate it was a heart attack. There was no evidence of foul play. Dirk, who broke barriers by coming out as a gay man after he was picked by Playgirl as their 1992 Man of the Year, was a film director and became a celebrity fitness instructor even training Will & Grace's Eric McCormack for 17 years. His Facebook page has been turned into a memorial for the beloved gay icon. While there is much speculation about his mysterious death, a friend, Eddie Shapiro, writes, "For anyone looking for a little comfort right now, Dirk and I had dinner a couple of weeks ago. We went shopping for skinny jeans (which looked fabulous on him) and we dished. He was really happy. Excited to be alive, excited to seize the future. His passing is very sad, but he left, as we all hope to, feeling happy to be alive." His father, David Shafer, was moved by all the love on Facebook, writing: "Dirk was my son. I loved him dearly and miss him terribly. He was as many of you have said a kind, loving and generous man. He had many friends and he loved them all. Thanks to all of who have written so many kind words about him and recalled many good memories. His family loved him and was very proud of him." The family is planning a memorial in West Hollywood. A time and date hasn't been selected yet.
