True Zendaya Giuliana Rancic controversy Zendaya Coleman took to her Instagram page to formally accept Giuliana Rancic’s apology Wednesday afternoon. “Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network,” Zendaya wrote. “I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well.” Zendaya was offended when the Fashion Police star said her hairstyle “smells like patchouli oil or weed. Maybe weed." Zendaya Giuliana Rancic controversy She explained, “As hard as it was to stop myself from being ignorant and from posting the first mean words that came to my mind because I was hurt, I had to think about the bigger picture." Zendaya sat for two hours doing research in order to make an educated response to Giuliana’s digs at her hairstyle. Giuliana apologized on E! News Tuesday, "I just want everyone to know, I didn't intend to hurt anyone, but I've learned it is not my intent that matters, it's the result. And the result is that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not OK." Giuliana's Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne did not take lightly to the remarks made by Giuliana about her friend, Zendaya. Kelly took to her Twitter Tuesday to confront the issue head on: “I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!” Kelly and Giuliana have yet to make a response to Zendaya’s Instagram post. Reporting by Raul Ruelas
