If after reading our headline you think it’s a joke — you’re not alone.
James Franco is always playing pranks so when he shaved his head we didn’t believe it at first. But this before and after was very convincing.
It turns out the unpredictable actor-director shaved off his hair for his role of Vikar in Zeroville. Vikar is a young man obsessed with films in 1969 who comes to Hollywood and has encounters and conversations with starlets, burglars, escorts, teenage punks and veteran film editors to learn the secret of moviemaking.
James debuted his new look including a fake mustache and a fake tattoo of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift on the back of his head at the Venice Film Festival Friday.
James was given the festival’s Glory to the Filmmaker Award in recognition of his work and his new film, The Sound and the Fury is also screening at this year’s festival.
We give James the award for Biggest Goof Ball in Hollywood.
Congrats on both honors!
