PETA has some big star power behind their latest campaign, which aims to put an end to horse-drawn carriages around New York City’s Central Park.
Lea Michele, Wendy Williams, Pink, Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and other celebs are speaking out in a new video about the carriage trade, in which they want to see the more than 200 horses moved out of pulling carriages around the streets of the Big Apple – often in and out of traffic – and moved onto farms.
Pink states “every time I see a horse drawn carriage with it’s nose in the tailpipe of a cab and the blinders on and all the pollution and the congestion and the traffic and the noise, it just hurts my heart.”
Adds Williams, whose talk show is based in NYC “they need to do away with the carriage horses here in New York.”
They also have a big political ally in the cause now. New Mayor Bill De Blasio has thrown his support behind a ban on horse drawn carriages.
