Kim Kardashian and Kanye West WON’T need to pack their bags and live in France before their blockbuster summer wedding, RumorFix has learned.
There was a report published that the superstar couple would have to reside in France for 40 DAYS prior to their wedding in May.
But according to the French Consulate in Los Angeles that is NOT the case.
And this view was backed by Gerrit Steenblik — an avocat generaliste— who specializes in French law and who who works with the consulate.
The Arizona based attorney told RumorFix: “They would not need to live in France for that amount of time. The couple would require to get an affidavit prepared in French by a recognized U.S. attorney which would then be given to the relevant City Hall dependent on the wedding location.
“This affidavit would attest to certain facts like where they resided and that they were American citizens. Other documents would also have to be provided like birth certificates and if they were married before then they require legal proof that they had been legally divorced.
“Provided all of the paperwork is in order then they would not have to live in France.”
Kim 33, and Kanye, 36, are rumored to be getting married on May 24 in France with their family and baby daughter North West all in attendance.
Providing all the legal paperwork is in order the happy couple will be presented with a livret de famille which is an official document while they can also apply for a marriage certificate from the Town Hall closest to where the wedding took place.
