Ross Mathews On Letterman & Late Night Wars

Since David Letterman is the oldest host on late night TV, we thought we would go to the youngest one to get his reaction to the shocking announcement this week.

Letterman, who has been doing The Late Show for 22 years, told his audience on Thursday that he's going to retire sometime next year.

Ross Mathews, who has hosted Hello Ross! for less than a year, gave RumorFix his exclusive take on the late night talk show wars.

“I’m sad to see Dave go," Ross, who got his start as Jay Leno's intern tells us. "After my mentor Jay leaving and now this, it feels like the end of an era. But I am excited to see who’s going to have the chance to shine in Dave's spot and compete against the fantastic Jimmy Fallon.”

And that diplomacy is one of the many reasons we love Ross!
