Finally! George Clooney appears to have stopped his pattern of dating cocktail waitresses or aspiring actresses.
And what an accomplished woman she is!
The 36-year-old is a London-based attorney specializing in international and human rights laws. She’s earned law degrees from Oxford University and New York University, where she spent a semester as a law clerk for now-Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor. She currently works for the London firm of Doughty Street Chambers.
The Lebanese-born barrister currently represents WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in his extradition case against Sweden. She’s also counsel to former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan on issues involving Syria.
Alamuddin has argued cases before the International Court of Justice at The Hague and the European Court of Human Rights, in addition to cases domestically in both the U.S. and the U.K. She has also been counsel on international human rights investigations and conflict-resolution panels, including ones with the United Nations.
And she’s fluent in French and Arabic in addition to English.
