Party Down South is only in its first season, but the new CMT reality show is already stirring up plenty of controversy.
While critics believe the cast is “obnoxious” and “just a bunch of drunk 20-year-olds,” others are singling out Taylor “Lil Bit” Wright’s wild child behavior while declaring she’s a devout Christian.
During a recent episode, Wright participated in an underwear contest at a local bar in Murrells Inlet, SC. Before stripping down to her black bra and panties, the self-proclaimed Jesus lover said, “God gave me this body so I’m gonna strut it for Him,” she told producers while waving around her Bible for the cameras.
Some fault-finders are judging the 23-year-old, saying that’s not how a true Christian should conduct herself. But the cute country gal is standing up against haters and defending her relationship with Jesus Christ.
In an exclusive interview with RumorFix, the Rockingham, NC native explains, “As far as me saying ‘God gave me this body and I’m gonna strut it,’ like obviously he gave me this body, duh, like this is who I am, this is what he gave me.
“But as far as the drinking and praying, all I have to say about that is, you know, having a drink in my hand alters my brain, it doesn’t alter my heart, my heart and my soul is in Jesus Christ,” Lil Bit says of scenes that show her praying while obviously inebriated.
The reality star continues, “I gave Him my heart and my soul years ago. Me drinking or me partying or anything else, me being in a bar or whatever … and environment … holding a drink in my hand, it doesn’t change my relationship with God.”
And as for those who place judgement on her, Wright says, “Judging someone is just as much a sin as anything else.”
We’re happy to see Taylor isn’t letting haters get between her and her love for the Lord! Check out this video.
