British actor Nicholas Hoult is opening up about his girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence and refreshingly confirms that she is as down to Earth and normal as she appears, despite achieving mega-fame.
“It’s like that thing whereby you don’t believe your own hype. Enjoy the good times, but don’t get swept away with it,” the 24-year-old tells the upcoming V Men magazine.
“I think that’s something she’s capable of doing, and that’s what makes her special, but yeah, it is very odd, and I am just kind of a bystander in many ways. It [fame] is well-deserved for her. I haven’t really seen any change in her.”
The couple began dating after starring together in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. They broke up in early 2013 shortly before 23-year-old Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.
But the pair reconnected when they began filming the X-Men sequel last summer — and working together is what brought them closer together.
“It’s fun because in this business you are away from one another for long periods of time, so when you’re on set together it’s a brilliant thing, because you actually get to spend time together,” he said. “Especially with this film [X-Men: Days of Future Past], I got to spend time with her … it doesn’t really affect the acting though.”
