GMA’s Amy Robach Promoted To News Anchor While Undergoing Cancer Chemotherapy

amyAmy Robach has been officially announced as Good Morning America's news anchor, replacing Josh Elliot who has decamped to work for NBC Sports.

Her colleagues congratulated her on-air Monday morning on the big promotion. But what's even more impressive is she's handling the new duties while still undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer treatment.

Even last week a viewer asked her on Twitter "How do you do it? You had treatment yesterday, you looked unfazed this AM" to which she replied "give it my all for 2 hours, then straight bed!"

40-year-old Robach also revealed she's undergoing her sixth round of chemo with the final goal of eight.

Josh congratulated Amy on her new promotion via Twitter telling her "Congratulations to @arobach--a most deserving colleague and a dear, dear friend. @GMA will be the better for your presence, Amy. #proudpal"

Congratulations to this strong and brave lady!
