One Direction’s Liam Payne took the saying “living on the edge” a little too literally recently. And of course it was caught on camera.
A photo of the 20-year-old standing on a ledge outside his 34th floor apartment in London made the rounds on social media, causing fans to fear for his safety.
The picture of Payne standing just inches away from an almost 400 foot fall was eventually taken down from Twitter and Instagram, but enough fans had seen it that Payne felt the need to respond.
“You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken. It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous,” the 1D’er said on his Twitter.
Payne had been hanging out at home with friends over the weekend and the offending photo was apparently taken during this time. But he’s taken the whole controversy in stride.
He finished by noting “worse things have happened, I’m sure we’ll be fine.”
