His sister Julianne left Dancing With The Stars for a film (and singing) career, and now Derek Hough is making his way into film with his first leading role.
The Dancing With The Stars pro will be putting his moves to work in a new film called Make Your Move.
Not surprisingly, the plot centers around the dance world with the 28-year-old playing Donny, who moves from New Orleans to New York and falls in love with a beautiful Japanese dancer played by Korean pop star BoA. The movie is billed as “a pair of star-crossed dancers in New York find themselves at the center of a bitter rivalry between their brothers’ underground dance clubs.”
The film’s director Duane Adler is the man behind other dance flicks like 2006’s Step Up, which helped make a star of Channing Tatum. Make Your Move will be coming to theaters April 18.
