Good Morning America correspondent Amy Robach debuted a new short hairdo on the show Wednesday morning. But unlike the wave of celebs who are also sporting pixie cuts, Robach’s decision to go short was spurred by her chemotherapy treatments.
The 40-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in November and underwent a double mastectomy. And now she’s just completed her second round of chemotherapy treatment and she says her hair is starting to fall out.
She said the cut was the one way she could take control of away from her cancer. The brave newswoman explained in a health update that with chemo comes hair loss. She has never had short hair in her life but made the decision because “I wanted to say that I had something to do with how I look, not the cancer.”
Robach still has four more chemo treatments to go, but is still an ever present and welcome face on America’s top morning show.
And she looks as beautiful as ever with the new cut!
