Phil Robertson: Is This His Idea Of An Apology?

Posted on December 18th, 2013 at 12:22 pm

philPhil Robertson is backtracking on his controversial comments comparing the gay lifestyle to bestiality.

The Duck Dynasty star said in a statement to RumorFix that  "I myself am a product of the '60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together," he says.

"However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other."

The 67-year-old made what GLAAD is calling “some of the vilest and most extreme statements utter against LGBT people in a mainstream publication” in the latest issue of GQ magazine.

Is this not America where we have freedom of speech? If you don’t like it, don’t watch his show! BTW. This news source is losing credibility, do your research and put the picture of the right person on this story!

He didnt back track anything and he has nothing to apologize for. He was asked a question and he answered it honestly. The media took what he said and made it out like he compared homosexuality and beastiality when he didnt do that at all. He quoted several different sins and they took it and ran with it. Why is it ok for gays to speak their beliefs and opinions and its not ok for Phil to speak his beliefs and opinions as well? We now live in an America where if you agree with me all is well but if you disagree you are a bigot and hate. RIDICULOUS

I’m no fan of Duck Dynasty but it seemed to me he was just stating an opinion, and the last time I checked (though it’s fading fast) this is still a free country. He’s more than entitled to his beliefs and opinions.
