Although TMZ is reporting that cops think the driver of Paul Walker’s death car may have been involved in a street race, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says that is not true.
In a press release to RumorFix, the sheriff’s department states, “Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station traffic investigators are continuing to document the investigation and have received eyewitness statements that the car involved was traveling alone at a high rate of speed.”
The press release continues, “No eyewitness has contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to say there was a second vehicle. The posted speed limit in the area of the collision is 45 MPH.”
Although Paul’s publicist has confirmed that the Fast and the Furious actor died in the crash and it’s been widely reported that race car driver Roger Rodas was driving the Porsche, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office hasn’t positively identified the victims nor have they determined the cause of death.
