Jennifer Aniston must have some wicked sense of humor — why else would she invite shock jock Howard Stern to her New Year’s Eve vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico?

        Yes.

Howard Stern? Isn’t he a nobody since he went to satellite radio? Who wants to hear a 50+ year old act like a 16 year old!

      • StopBeingStupid

Wrong! Moving to satellite was the best thing for his career. It has allowed him to conduct unedited, compelling interviews. It has also helped him to rub elbows with the who’s-who of Hollywood (above). It has garnered him with more respect and adulation than regular radio. But obviously you don’t listen and you’re an expert on things you know nothing about.

        • WminPhoenix

I have listened to Stern since his days at WNBC in the 1980′s. His ratings since the jump to satellite radio have not been stellar nor has he helped the stock price of SIRI. Except for a jump in 2000, the price has remained in the $3.70 to 4+ dollar price range for a decade.
I listen to him occasionally but for the most part his shtick is tired and boring.
He might “rub elbows” with the Hollywood elite but it is in the role of court jester.

          • THE TRUTH

You people are so uninformed it’s sickening. Sirius had 600k subscribers when they signed Howard in 2005. As of November 2013 Sirius XM had 24 million subscribers. 60% of those 24 million exclusively listen to Howard’s 2 channels.

That’s over 14 million listeners which is more than any other talk show on the planet.

If you think his shtick is tired than you obviously don’t listen because he dumped his old shtick 5 years ago. His new shtick is being the greatest interviewer on the planet.

            • WminPhoenix

Arbitron and other rating services list Rush Limbaugh as having 13.5 million listeners. When Stern sued Sirius, his lawyer claimed 3.5 million listeners. Industry rating services put the number of listeners for Howard Stern at 1.75 + million. Your figure of 14.4 million is nowhere to be found.
The use of the superlative “the greatest” leaves allot open for discussion.
The 24 million subscribers to Sirius is a skewed number. For example, my first subscription was a 6 months freebie, others had a special rate for an extended time period, some new car buyers get a years free service. The actual paid subscribers varies wildly.
Look at the company fundamentals on Yahoo finance. You will find a number of financial new stories that shows the health of the company is not that good. The symbol is SIRI

Aribtron is way skewed too, Roger. Fact is anyone with a 5 dollar am/fm alarm radio can listen to Rush. Quantity does not equal quantity.

            • WminPhoenix

Did you mean, “Quantity does not equal quality”?.
Sponsors look for numbers which can equate to potential customers. For the most part quality/content is not a huge concern unless it was the Limbaugh fiasco with Sandra Fluke or the bearded duck guy comments about gays.

He has been a judge on AGT for the past couple of years and will be again this year. While he may not have as many people listening to him on satellite he still remains popular and has great interviews with A list stars.
