Fans are not only distraught over the passing of Paul Walker, but the possible death of their beloved franchise The Fast and the Furious.
Fast and the Furious 7 is scheduled for release in July 2014 — but fans on Twitter are wondering if the high-octane movie will continue after the death of its lead character.
Entertainment journalist Nikki Finke is reporting, “Sources tell me Paul Walker’s ‘Fast & Furious 7’ is in midst of filming with cast and crew ‘on holiday’. Majority of footage already shot.”
The film’s director, James Wan, wasn’t thinking about the film when he heard the news, tweeting, “I am so beyond heartbroken right now. I can’t process anything.”
As far as we can tell, Paul was last seen on the set of Fast and the Furious 7 just a week and a half ago along with co-stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Universal Pictures, the studio behind the franchise, expressed its praise for the actor.
“Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast & Furious films, and to countless fans,” the statement read.
“We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.”
