The rumors about Gwyneth Paltrow going to war with Vanity Fair magazine – and it’s editor Graydon Carter – have reached a fever pitch this week, with several websites claiming the Oscar winner is asking her A-list friends to boycott the legendary VF post-Academy Awards party. A party Gwyneth herself regularly attends.
The alleged battle began this summer when the magazine wanted to do a cover story on Gwyneth but she declined and supposedly asked friends not to cooperate with the magazine’s story.
But that wasn’t the end of it. Carter divulged last month that the magazine was going ahead with the story because Paltrow “forced his hand.” Then rumors began that the story would be an “epic takedown” piece on the 41-year-old actress and lifestyle guru.
But her rep set things straight Thursday, telling RumorFix that the party boycott story is “absolutely false. She has never asked anyone not to attend.”
He added “this supposed feud is blown complete out of proportion. The VF story that they wrote and may or may not run is not a takedown at all. Gwyneth did not participate because we were not promoting anything for the month they wanted to run the story which was October. She never asked anyone to boycott the party, she just asked her friends not to give quotes about her. ”
