Tom Hanks has revealed he’s battling Type 2 diabetes.
The 57-year old actor disclosed his condition during an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman when Letterman commented on his trim figure.
“I went to the doctors and they said, you know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been living with since you were 36, well you’ve graduated, you’ve got Type 2 Diabetes young man,’” Hanks said
The Oscar winner said his doctor suggested he get down to his high school weight of 98 pounds which the actor laughed off as “impossible.”
‘My doctor said, “If you can weigh what you weighed in high school, you’ll essentially be completely healthy and not have Type 2 diabetes.”
Hanks responded “‘well I’m going to have type 2 diabetes then.'”
