Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Looks Up To Controversial Facebook Fat-Shaming Mom

Posted on October 15th, 2013 at 12:34 pm

momFacebook sensation Maria Kang has one very public defender in none other than former Jersey Shore wild child Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.

Fitness enthusiast Kang sparked internet outrage posting a photo of herself in tiny workout clothes and rock hard abs surrounded by her three toddlers with the caption "what's your excuse?" causing many to claim she was fat-shaming new moms for not whipping back into perfect shape after baby.  The photo has been viewed over 16 million times and has caused a big debate on the post-baby weight issue.

Kang recently posted  to her Facebook page "I'm sorry you took an image and resonated with it in such a negative way. I won't go into details that I struggled with my genetics, had an eating disorder, full time owning two business', have no nanny, am not naturally skinny and do not work as a personal trainer. I won't even mention how I didn't give into cravings for ice cream, french fries or chocolate while pregnant or use my growing belly as an excuse to be inactive."   Basically she's not sorry for what she posted, she's just sorry you're taking it the wrong way.

But she's got a big celebrity fan in Snooki, who lost 50 pounds after having her son Lorenzo.  Snooki told OMG Insider reporter Nina Parker “[The image] is not offensive at all, that’s what lazy people say…[Kang] is actually who I look up to…I want to be a mom like that.”

Omg! That lady is pretty judgemental! I can list at least 10 excuses as to why women don’t snap back to a body like hers! First and formost, genetics ! Duh! Every woman’s body and situation is different. Who the hell is she to judge every mom out there ?!

Did you read her blog? or her Facebook? Do you actually know her? Unless you do – how are you not being judgmental? “Who the hell is she to judge every mom out there ?!” WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO JUDGE HER?

        • Trinity says:

Yes, I have read her blog, and her Facebook. Her comment suggests all women, and all women’s situations are the same; They are not!

It is unfair to assume every woman can achieve a lean toned body after giving birth, or just in general. Her comment implies that women makes EXCUSES if they aren’t in perfect shape after having children. Sorry, but not all women can be group into her singular category !

I also find her so called motivational tag to be negative. There’s so many other ways to motivate women to shape up, but instead she choose to imply they all make excuses is plain wrong.

          To assume that is JUDGMENTAL!

And to answer your question who am I to judge her? I’m a woman! And her words are directed towards women! She also chose to make those words public. And that moron give’s me the right!

There are smart women and then there’s dumb women. The smart women will read this article and move on with their lives. The dumb women will read it and somehow take offense to something someone they don’t know wrote on facebook. The dumb women will let this ruin their day while the smart women will brush it off as nonsense.

            • Guest says:

Because I have an opinion does not make me dumb. With your theory you have yourself replied to my comment, someone you don’t know. So does that make you dumb ? It take a whole 3 mins to post. I’d hardly call that ruining my day, or effecting me; It was an opinion, and a reply. So by min. 5 it’s ‘brushed off’

            • a_realist says:

I just said there are smart women and there dumb ones… so from what I can see you’re a smart woman, after 5 minutes you brushed it off… good for you 🙂

Now, don’t you think it’s silly how someone could stew over something like this?

            • Guest says:

Yup! My apologies I thought your comment was directed at me….and Ty!

I don’t like it, but it’s not my mission to change it; just to voice my opinion & comment….

              So it’s all good….

            • Guest says:

Ha ha ha, a_realist…..are you kidding? You have the balls to call me dumb for posting my comment? Yet you have 700 posts! That’s rich! Thx for the laugh!

What is wrong with the world? An apology like that only solidifies why there is negativity. This is arrogant and fat shaming. Why did she feel the need to “apologize” anyways? The pic was enough as far as take it or leave it. Now people are assuming the ones offended are lazy?! Real moms don’t have time for fitness competitions and beauty pageant life styles. We are serving our country or working 100+ hours a week single moms trying to just provide. That is the excuse. Not our infants.

    3. a_realist says:

Geez women get a grip! How in the world is this affecting you? it’s freakin Facebook! Who cares! Oh… self conscious women from what I can see

    4. Comment says:

This woman looks great and the reason people are upset is because she struck a nerve with the truth. I wish more women followed her example instead of letting themselves go after childbirth. Then they use the excuse “I just had a baby” when the “baby” is 11 years old. I think women know they can do better and just choose not to hoping that if they all get fat together the world will accept the unhealthy lifestyle as the new “normal”. Funny thing is when they die of diabetes, heart disease or some other obesity related illness it’ll still be society’s (or somebody else’s) fault and not their own laziness.

“i just look at food and get fat waahhh!”
fat people are just lazy and lack self control. they just want a pill to solve all their problems.
