We’re not sure why this video surfaced on YouTube Friday, but if you’re heading out to a karaoke bar this weekend, just know that even megastars are guilty of drunken public singing.
Taken at a friend’s birthday party in 2008, pop superstar Katy Perry and her Twilight heartthrob pal Robert Pattinson took the stage at Burbank, California’s legendary Dimples Karaoke bar to sing a duet of the Boyz II Men classic “I’ll Make Love To You.”
It was posted by user likeafool who has a Robert Pattinson blog.
The video shows Katy hoisting a beer and Rob is being handed his cocktail while their other hands hold the microphones and they try to keep up with the lyrics. It’s obvious they’ve been having a pretty fun — and cocktail fueled — evening.
At one point during the lyrics Katy stops to say “this chair is too high to make love on” and moves off her stool and onto Rob’s lap as they keep singing…and drinking.
Oh, and if you’re wondering about the crazy hunting hat she’s wearing, Dimples provides hats, wigs and other props for singers to use.
Maybe a friend released it in celebration of Friday being Katy’s 29th birthday, and from the looks of this video she is definitely a fun one at birthday celebrations.
