Kudos to Elle magazine for putting funny lady Melissa McCarthy on the cover, bucking the trend of slender stars in couture outfits.
But then why are they covering her up in a giant, bulky coat?
“The perfect new coat shape” is seen on the cover of November’s issue. But Melissa’s coat has no shape, it might as well be a bathrobe. And she’s on the cover because the main feature article is their annual “Women in Hollywood” issue.
The Bridesmaids star looks beautiful with her hair and makeup perfectly styled. But then there’s the giant teal coat that swallows her entire body.
Elle said in a statement “On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover. We are thrilled to honor her as one of our Women in Hollywood this year.”
What do you think? Props to Elle for putting a plus-size actress on the cover but boo to them for covering up her body up in a terrible, unflattering coat?
