Dancing with the Stars’ Leah Remini didn’t dance around the subject of Scientology when she appeared on Ellen on Monday.
Leah told Ellen DeGeneres that her former friends from the church are banned from talking to her.
“It’s hard,” Leah said, “We’ve lost friends who can no longer talk with us who are still with the organization.”
Interesting — she didn’t even call Scientology a church.
“My mother got involved when we were very young,” she explained, “so it’s all we really ever knew.” But over time, Leah says, “my eyes opened and I just could no longer be affiliated with the organization. My family felt the same way, so we left.”
Leah was a member of Scientology for more than 30 years. The controversial church is also home to Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and Jenna Elfman.
