The hotly anticipated film version of E.L James erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey now has actress Dakota Johnson in place to play it’s lead female character of Anastasia Steele.
The 23-year-old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson has landed the much sought-after role according to the book’s author E.L. James, who tweeted the news Monday “I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Johnson was last seen in the now-cancelled Fox sitcom Ben & Kate
The film is due out next August and has director Sam Taylor-Johnson in place and now Johnson for it’s heroine. But the film is still in need of an actor to play antagonist Christian Grey.
