Amanda Bynes ‘Making Great Strides Toward Recovery’

Former Nickleodeon star Amanda Bynes is "making great strides toward recovery," an attorney for Amanda's parents tells RumorFix.

The 27-year-old was put on a psychiatric hold after she tried to torch the driveway of a stranger. The hold was due to expire on Monday, but attorneys held a Lanterman-Petis-Short proceeding and Amanda's mom was granted LPS conservatorship over her daughter, which means Lynn Bynes can make all medical and financial decisions for the troubled star.

"It is for this reason, and in an effort not to duplicate conservator rights, that Mrs. Bynes decided to withdraw her Petition for Conservatorship of her daughter in the probate courts this morning," Tamar Arminak tells RumorFix.

The Bynes will go to court on December 17, 2013 for a probate conservatorship, which means they could be in control of where Amanda lives and what to do with her property.

Tamar also confirms that Amanda has changed facilities again. TMZ claims Bynes moved to The Canyon, a well-known celebrity rehab facility that specializes in treating addiction and mental disorder.

Tamar didn't disclose the location, but told us, "Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles."

And the good news: "Amanda is making great strides towards recovery. The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being. The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda’s supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
