Margaret Pellegrini, who was one of The Wizard of Oz’s beloved munchkins, died on Wednesday at the age of 89, RumorFix has learned.
Margaret played the Flower Pot Munchkin and even well into her 80s she was always game to wear her famous flower pot hat.
She was only 15 when she got the coveted role and became one of the youngest actors on the set of the iconic movie, which featured 124 little people.
In an interview in 2009, she said, “It’s really an honor to see how it keeps going from generation to generation. I don’t think The Wizard of Oz will ever die out. And they’ll never make another one like it.”
Flowers were placed on her star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday. Her star was dedicated on November 20, 2007, 68 years after she starred in The Wizard Of Oz.
