one6Nothing like a superstar to pass along a pep talk!

The British boy band One Direction got booed last night when they took home the "Song of the Summer" VMA moon man trophy for Best Song Ever.  They beat out some pretty heavy competition including Daft Punk's Get Lucky and Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.  And the crowd inside the Barclays Center was none to happy about.

But backstage they got a consoling from none other than Lady Gaga herself!

The Applause singer made it a point to approach the boys of 1D and tell them "you deserve this" for their win.  She was seated in the audience when the award was announced but left afterwards to greet the boy band backstage.  She told them "you deserve every bit of success that you have and don't you dare let those people boo you."

She was so upset by the crowd's behavior she told the guys "I want to leave right now, I don't want to stay anymore.  I don't want to be in a room where people would be like that."

The guys seemed to appreciate it, thanking her and then posing for pictures with Gaga.

Nothing against these youngmen but clearly the winners was wrong. Robin Thick was bamboozled. Sorry Robin but blurred lines was the real winner as Kanye would say.
