jamesRadarOnline is alleging that James Franco is a "cheapskate," quoting from a casting call notice for his new film The Sound and the Fury which offers the potential lead female role low pay because “working with James in itself can be considered great currency.”

According to the gossip site, "The Sound and the Fury will be a feature film that will shoot for 13 days and operate on a low SAG [Screen Actors Guild] budget."

The casting call reads, “For those wanting to work with James, that in itself can be considered great currency. He is a fantastic director and quite loyal to his actors!! This story is both deep and rich!”

RumorFix reached out to a source extremely close to Franco who tells us, "Not true. It is a low budget film but he would never say anything like that."

We also spoke to the casting director on the film who told us, "That casting notice never came from James. It came from me as a confidential correspondence to managers and agents. I was just saying this is only scale, but a great opportunity for an actor."
