The cast of Glee was back on set at around 8 a.m. on Monday morning, and RumorFix has learned exclusively grief counselors are standing by for anyone who needs to talk.
About three weeks ago, one of the show’s breakout stars, Cory Monteith, died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. The cast is extremely close and the show’s creator Ryan Murphy has said to the press that the cast believes the best way to heal is to return to work and mourn together.
We are told the mood on the set on Monday was OK — not too somber.
Cory’s TV and real life girlfriend Lea Michele is trying to move on with her life — this weekend she attended Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s baby show — her first outing since Cory’s death.
And, on Friday, she showed her excitement about getting back into character:
“First day of glee today … And at my first wardrobe fitting for Rachel Berry for Season Five! I’ve missed her so much❤”
On Monday, Darren Criss tweeted this photo of several directors chairs with the caption: :Annnnnnnnnd back to work.”
Jenna Ushkowitz focused on her chair: “…here we go!”
Kevin McHale sent out this photo with the caption “Day 1 #season5 #glee”
Our thoughts are with the cast and crew during this difficult time.
