Most of ABC’s Bachelorettes have either gone on to get married (Ashley Hebert) vanish off the radar (Jillian Harris) or desperately try to maintain their fame with little success (Emily Maynard).
But fan favorite Ali Fedotowsky has made a name for herself following her season on the hit ABC reality show. And Wednesday she shared the big news that she’s joining the team at E! Entertainment Network, tweeting “so excited to announce that I am the newest member of the @E!News family.”
The network Wednesday afternoon confirmed it in a press release stating “We are happy to welcome Ali to the E! family as a full-time correspondent” said Cyndi McClellan, President, Network Strategy and E! News. “Her passion for pop culture will allow Ali to capture the viewer’s perspective in a unique and fun way.”
Since becoming engaged to insurance salesman Roberto Martinez on 2010’s season six of The Bachelorette – a romance that ended 18 months later – Ali began doing entertainment reports for a local San Diego TV station. From there the 28-year-old landed a gig as host of NBC’s First Look, a lifestyle and restaurant show that airs on NBC-owned TV stations and in New York City’s taxi cabs – something which led to her recently getting a role in the new Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine.
Now she’s made it to the big time, landing a coveted position as a correspondent for cable TV’s top-rated entertainment channel. Not bad for a former Facebook ad/sales rep.
She’s adorable, bubbly, honest, and totally natural. Just some of the reasons she was arguably one of the most popular Bachelorette’s ever.
Congratulations to Ali and her new gig!
