Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice made their first appearance before a federal magistrate Tuesday on a myriad of financial and fraud charges.
The couple surrendered to authorities and both posted $500K in bond each.
As part of the terms of their bail, both Teresa and Joe had to surrender their passports and are restricted staying within New York and New Jersey.
Their formal arraignment will take place on August 14th. It stems from a 39-count indictment Monday that included conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.
Teresa’s attorney Henry Klingeman told RumorFix Monday “Teresa will plead ‘not guilty.’ The judicial process that begins with an indictment is a search for the truth. As it moves forward, we look forward to vindicating her.”
The charges against the couple carry punishments of up to 30 years in prison.
