Randy Travis’ heart ailment is worse than previously reported.
Earlier this week RumorFix learned the country superstar was admitted to a Texas hospital with viral cardiomyopathy, a serious but treatable heart infection. But his doctors on Wednesday revealed that he’s suffering from congestive heart failure.
Dr. William Gray from the Baylor Medical Center in McKinney, Texas said as recently as three weeks ago the 54-year-old was in good health but developed a respiratory infection. The Forever And Ever Amen singer was admitted to the hospital Sunday night and diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy and upon further care, doctors decided to transfer him to the Heart Hospital Baylor in Plano, Texas where he can get more specialized treatment.
Another doctor said that although Travis remains in critical condition, “His condition has stabilized and he has shown signs of improvement.”
