Less than 24 hours after giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Prince William debuted their newborn son on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital.
The 8 pound 6 oz. Prince of Cambridge was born at 4:24 p.m. local time at the London hospital Monday.
Despite a grueling 11 hour labor, Kate looked stunning in a blue polka dot dress that harkened back to the one Princess Diana wore upon debuting baby William to the world.
Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana debuted Prince William to the world a day after his birth 31 years ago on the very same steps!
William remarked that his son “is a big boy … he’s quite heavy” and noted the couple have not chosen a name for the infant yet. The self-deprecating daddy said, “He got her [Kate] looks thankfully” and joked that the Royal baby has more hair than his daddy.
Shortly after their appearance the couple – with Prince Cambridge in a car seat – got into an awaiting SUV to shuttle the new family back to Kensington Palace.
