Sonja Morgan was recently honored by Inspired New York for her philanthropic work, including working with AIDS charities and LGBT organizations and RumorFix was there.
Of course the event was taped for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City so the entire cast (minus Carole Radziwill) was present. Harry Dubin, who is Aviva Drescher’s ex-husband, also attended . Harry was a popular conversation piece last season as we found out he had previously been involved in some capacity with LuAnn DeLesseps and Sonja. It should be noted that he did have his arm around Sonja for part of the evening and Aviva was overheard toasting Sonja and saying she was “family now” since Harry and Aviva had a child together.
So onlookers wondered if they are a new couple.
Back to Sonja’s award.
When someone asked how she felt being a role model, she responded, “I have total confidence in it, because as wacky as I may seem, I think America is educated enough to know that it’s the edits and that it’s all in the bun. We have those moments, but … you get up in the morning and get your ass to work. Nobody else is gonna pull your weight. You have to be a good friend, a good mom… you cannot depend on anybody else. Even if you’re in love.”
On business advice she said, “Be conservative. Build slowly and wisely. I made that mistake in Hollywood, getting involved in a business that I didn’t know. In a business — I knew how to pick a script and how to work with good artists and all that, but i didn’t know the underbellies of that. That’s why I don’t have a toaster oven in China. I know how to cook in a toaster oven for 25 years, but I don’t know business in China.”
