Good Morning America Beats The Today Show By Largest Number In Decades

gma4Things just keep getting brighter for the folks at ABC's Good Morning America.

The morning chat-fest just scored a second quarter victory over The Today Show for the first time in over 18 years.  In fact, GMA has won the morning show wars for every week of 2013.

Robin, George, Lara, Sam and Josh should have plenty to celebrate.  The show is on it's longest winning streak in over two decades, winning all four of the past measured annual quarters.

And their latest victory comes at a major blow for The Today ShowGMA topped NBC's former morning champ by almost 800,000 viewers, widening the audience gap between the two shows by the largest margin to date -- over 20 years!  The embattled peacock morning show has been steadily losing viewers since the inauspicious firing of well-liked co-host Ann Curry last summer.  The incident was a major P.R. blow to the show and they've never been able to recover in the ratings race since.

The Today Show's loss is definitely GMA's gain.  Congrats to the crew that makes waking up fun!
