The cast of Glee is an incredibly close one, and news of the untimely death of star Cory Monteith has been devastating.
Yet despite news Saturday night of Monteith’s passing, its cast members still have work and promotional requirements. And they have stepped up to fulfill those.
Emmy Winner Jane Lynch — who plays Sue Sylvester — starred in her final performance in Broadway’s revival of Annie Sunday afternoon.
Matthew Morrison — who plays Mr. Schuester — dedicated a song to Monteith during a Sunday night performance in New York City. He sang What I Did for Love from the Broadway stalwart A Chorus Line telling his audience “You came out to see a show, I came out to do one, so let’s honor Cory with this performance.” Matthew has cancelled a scheduled appearance on Live with Kelly & Michael on Thursday.
Chord Overstreet — who portrayed his football teammate and glee club friend — played in the Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity softball game on Sunday at Citi Field in Flushing, New York as part of Major League Baseball’s All-Star game festivities. Chord hit a homer and dedicated it to Cory.
Darren Criss attended the Monday night premiere of his new film Girl Most Likely, but canceled appearances Tuesday on Good Morning America and Live with Kelly & Michael.
31-year-old Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. An autopsy is being conducted Monday to determine the cause of death.
