During his days on the LoveLine radio show, Adam Carolla would always brag about being a millionaire.
And, now that he’s raising money for a new film, Road Hard, on Fund Anything, the crowd funding website backed by Donald Trump — so we had to ask: “Why don’t you fund it yourself?”
“I sort of half funded my last film [The Hammer] — essentially lost all my money. I’m not interested in that experience again,” the comedian tells RumorFix in this extremely candid interview.
Adam, who has become the podcast king, adds, “I don’t have a million bucks laying around.”
So, when he got a call from Fund Anything, he jumped at the chance to make his new independent film about a sitcom star, who gets a divorce and is forced to return to the road and do stand-up comedy.
The comedian tells RumorFix the storyline parallels his own life, but … “I’m not divorced — the day is young. No adopted kid, I have kids … and I had a few TV shows.”
Adam picked a star-studded cast to join him in this venture, which has already raised more than $400,000. The cast includes indy queen Illeana Douglas, Private Practice’s Diane Farr, In Living Color’s David Alan Grier and Boston Legal’s Larry Miller.
