Paula Deen was in full damage control mode as she confessed her sins to NBC’s Matt Lauer on Wednesday.
Appearing on the Today show, a tearful Paula insisted that her reputation is being defamed by liars who don’t even know her. “There are two groups of people that I am prejudiced against… Thieves and liars.”
Deen says the one and only time she’s ever used the N-word was thirty years ago after being held hostage by a scared black man during a bank robbery. “I had a shaking gun to my head,” says Paula.
Despite that, the southern cook and iconic TV personality says that she’s not a racist. Paula says, “I believe that every one of God’s creatures are created equal.”
Paula then broke down in tears as she looked into the camera and dared anyone who has never said something that they wish they could take back, to throw a stone at her head so hard that it would kill her.
When Lauer asked if there was a hidden personality behind the sugary and sweet Paula Deen, she replied:
“I is what I is. What you see is what you get. I’m not an actress.”
