One of the legends of Heavy Metal died on Thursday, RumorFix has confirmed.
“Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away,” says the band’s Facebook page.
Jeff Hanneman, guitarist for Slayer, passed away at about 11 a.m. on Thursday at his Southern California home.
The 49-year-old was instrumental in songs like “Raining Blood,” “War Ensemble” and “Seasons in the Abyss.”
Jeff was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his sister, Kathy, and his brothers, Michael and Larry.
