A website known for it’s satirical reporting has started a rumor about Chris Brown that is catching fire on Twitter.
The Daily Currant claims Chris paid Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro’s bail saying he was a “misunderstood figure” who is being unfairly treated by the criminal justice system.
Castro’s bond was set at $8 million and Daily Currant reports Chris said, “I just wanted to help a brother out. This Castro guy is a complicated figure and not all he did was bad. I got cash to spare, so why not?”
We spoke to Brown’s rep, who tells RumorFix, “This is not true.”
And if you check out the “About” page on Daily Currant it clearly states their stories are made up:
“Q. Are your news stories real?
A. No. Our stories are purely fictional. However they are meant to address real-world issues through satire and often refer and link to real events happening in the world.”
