Shahs of Sunset star Lilly Ghalichi reveals exclusive details of her 30th birthday party to RumorFix.
“I decided once in my life I was going to do something super fun and larger than life for myself, so I decided to go all out for my 3oth,” she tells us.
With help from an event planner from White Lilac, she came up with the “Persian Prom Princess” theme. “Not all of us had the best time at prom,” the beautiful brunette reveals. “For me, I wasn’t even allowed to go to prom — I snuck out and I went to prom with a friend — it was just a disaster!”
So, it was time to have the prom she always wanted — and yes, you guessed it, she was elected Prom Queen and her co-star Reza Ferahan was elected Prom King.
Lilly’s friend Mohamed Hadid hosted the party at his $55 million Bel Air mansion on May 4. The event started with a cocktail party for Lilly’s “120 closest friends,” then she opened up the party to 350 people. She says she invited people from all walks of life — from valet parking attendants to singer Christina Millian and from drag queens to Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi.
But the most controversial part of her party was her five costume changes. “I had five dresses,” she told us. “I got a lot of heat for that.”
Fans criticized her for not donating the money to charity instead of buying the expensive apparel that ranged from beaded dresses to couture gowns.
“It’s so unfair for people to even say that,” she explains. “What they don’t know is I will sell all five of those dresses on eBay for more than I paid for and then I’ll donate that money to charity. By wearing five dresses I’m doing a better deed than not wearing any at all.”
