Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwill has broken her silence on fierce contract negotiations with Bravo.
According to multiple reports all six cast members — Carole, LuAnn de Lesseps, Aviva Drescher, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Heather Thomson — have banded together and are demanding larger pay raises for everyone.
Deadline Hollywood reports the ladies were given a Friday deadline to accept the Bravo offer, but they’ve asked to think about it over the weekend.
Carole tweeted Friday night, “I still haven’t decided. Payscale is ridix + it irks me to be given ultimatums.Just ask my last 5 boyfriends.:) What about you? Irksome?”
According to TMZ, Bravo is furious and threatening to fire all of them.
Unconfirmed media reports say Singer and de Lesseps get paid around $500,000 a season, Morgan about $220,000, Drescher about $200,000, and Thomson $175,000. It’s well known in Housewives circles that the reality stars are put on a sliding scale — the longer they are on the show — the more money they make.
There are several things to keep in mind here — the ratings have dipped for RHONY since Bethenny Frankel left two seasons ago, production on Season Six is set to begin Monday and if Bravo bows down to pressure from the NY ladies, will this set a dangerous precedent for the other franchises?
UPDATE 4:30 p.m. PT Deadline reports the RHONY settled their dispute.
