It’s no secret that American Idol, once a ratings powerhouse for FOX, has seen it’s numbers slide considerably in recent years.
With the Season 12 finale a week away, speculation is already swirling around the judges’ panel for Season 13.
In fact, according to a new report on The Wrap, all four American Idol judges will be gone when the show returns next year … including Randy Jackson! Even longtime producer Nigel Lythgoe is allegedly getting the axe.
The report quotes unnamed sources at FOX who insist that BIG changes are coming to the most success reality singing competition in history.
The experiment that was Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Mariah Carey has resulted a 22 percent ratings drop this season alone.
But, with a reported revenue of more than $800 million last year, American Idol isn’t going anywhere. However, The Wrap claims that the format of the show will be revamped with the look of the show being entirely redesigned.
One name missing from the chopping block manifest is Ryan Seacrest who is hugely popular, still under contract, and will almost certainly remain a fixture on the show.
It sounds like Idol fans will be in for quite a jolt in 2014, but only time will tell just how far this RUMOR pans out.
