In a desperate attempt to keep viewers interested in the popular morning talk show The View, Star magazine claims producers are giving Joy Behar the boot and replacing her with either Brooke Shields or Alexandra Wentworth.
The gossip rag writes, “It had its highest ratings when they added Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd. The producers want to get back to that place, especially since The Talk is getting stronger.”
UPDATE: On Thursday, Joy Behar and The View confirmed the comedian is leaving the talk show after 16 and a half years, but Joy’s rep is making it clear that it’s Joy’s decision and that she wants to return to doing standup comedy and possibly hosting a new show on CNN.
No word on whether Brooke and Alexandra are in the running to replace Joy.
