The Ariel Winter vs.mom battle continues.
Don’t be fooled by Ariel’s sweet carefree life on Modern Family, because real life for the star has been the opposite lately.
A guardianship hearing didn’t turn out in Chrisoula Workman’s favor on Friday when she went to fight for custody of her 15-year-old daughter. Ariel and her mom reportedly haven’t spoken for five months.
RumorFix has confirmed the judge denied Workman’s idea to order Ariel to go to therapy with her to mend their mother-daughter relationship. Judge Michael Levanas turned down the request saying he cannot force a teenager to have a relationship with her mother if she doesn’t want one.
Instead, the judge extended Ariel’s current custody situation, so the actress will remain in the care of her older sister Shanelle Gray, 34. The starlet moved in with her sister after Winter accused her mother of mental and physical abuse back in October 2012. The court never found proof of physical abuse, but Chrisoula lost custody.
Ariel’s friends tell RumoFix that the star has changed for the worse ever since rising to fame, saying she’s lost most of her close friends due to her bad attitude and behavior. Winter’s friends also tell us that they still remain in contact with Chrisoula because they “feel bad for what Ariel has done to her.”
Judge Levanas set trial dates for October 16 and October 30 to determine whether Chrisoula shall regain custody of her 15-year-old daughter.
