Is NBC’s Law & Order: SVU really going there?

It appears to be TRUE.  In an NBC promo for the upcoming episode, a pop singer in an abusive relationship is brutally attacked by her hip hop boyfriend.  As the D.A. builds their case against him, the Law & Order: SVU teaser promises a “twist” to the “familiar story of two celebrities intertwined by abuse.”

Writers for the hit NBC drama series are notorious for ripping their plots from the headlines and daring to take on controversial story lines.

While Chris Brown and Rihanna may want nothing more than to put the past behind them, the SVU episode titled “Funny Valentine,” is sure to raise some eyebrows of fans who disapprove of the couple’s rekindled relationship.
